ACITI hosted its first Trade Law Symposium on 17 May in Canberra. Keynote speaker was Ms Valerie Hughes, arbitrator for the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement and Senior Counsel, International Trade and Investment, Bennet Jones LLP.

The half day symposium explored:

* The functioning and future of the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement

* The national security defence in trade disputes and

* The international trade law dimensions of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms.
